January 1st 2012

Well Another year has come and gone..What??? Oh well at least I don't have to make a new "New Years Resolution" list. I will just use the one I had last year ha ha. Today I sat down and made a 31 day menu for the month of Jan then Chad and I went to the store and bought a months worth of groceries including LOTS and LOTS of fruits and veggies. Why? well I'm glad you asked. Chad and I have set a goal to not go out to eat for the whole month of January (you thought I was going to say the whole year didn't ya LOL ha no way!) 30 Days. That is all we're asking right now. this whole month we will eat healthier to try to shed some pounds, and eat at home to try and fatten our checking account. SO sorry to all my friends who I promised lunch dates with. We will have to wait until Feb unless it is your turn to buy which in that case I can order a salad.
This is always a hard challenge for Chad and I. We LOVE to eat out. Mostly because I'm so not good at cooking. however we have done it before so we can do it again. We have a few other goals to accomplish this year that include
losing weight (who doesn't want this one?)
Paying off our last lonely credit card (which is mostly medical bills from my surgery last year)
Finding a medium
and some other little tid bits that (I) just need to be better at period.
So I will wish you all luck with your goals if you will wish us luck. I like encouragement via blog comments, Face Book comments, txt messages, and email. And of course I'm always up for a good phone call =)

Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas

Did you know that the chopping down of the Christmas tree represents the death of Christ and putting it back up again represents the resurrection of Christ. Did you know that the wreaths we hang are never… ending circles, that represents eternity? Candy canes were made to look like shepherd hooks and the colors red , Jesus' blood, white purity. The gifts, represents the 3 gifts the wise men brought for Jesus. So when you are running around trying to get the "perfect gift", stop yourself, take a deep breath and remember we have been given the perfect gift, Jesus Christ was given to us to remove all of our sins. Happy Birthday Jesus!

Keepin Busy, (with no progress to report)

Here is a perfect example of the "why do I even Bother" Woes. this morning I made Coles bed all pretty and straightend up his room. Then I told Corbyn to go clean off his bed and I would wash his sheets. So Corbyn got to work and took all the blankets off his bed and brought them to me in the laundry room. Well Cole felt left out and did the same thing. I guess he didn't know I JUST washed his sheets the other day. and now making his bed this morning was pointless.

Oh the things they say.

Every morning around 9am it's time to start school. We always begin with an opening song, the pledge of allegiance, and a prayer. Corbyn wanted to say the prayer this morning. He isn't always the most reverent and tries to be silly as he dances around and says irreverent things (yes it's a problem and we're working on it) well today I think he was trying to be sincere and say to our Father in Heaven "please help us to be good in school so we don't have to go to the Principle"

He is so Stinking Smart

So today Carysn is working on some scout belt loops. He decided to work on the Astronomy one. He had to draw a diagram of the solar system. Corbyn wanted to join in the fun so he was coloring too. He too tried to draw the solar system. When he finished I asked if he could name them. He points to one and says, Jupiter. correct. He points to the next one.....Colorado. Yep I knew that place was a planet of it's own (no offence Colorado friends it just wasn't for us) .... and did you know our solar system has 2 ...yep 2 Plutos??? I swear that kids is so smart.

Lessons Learned Today

1. Is doesn't do any good to start the washer if you don't put clothes in it
2. A washer ran with no clothes in it tends to flood laundry room
3. When making soup it works better to put it in the pan not all over the floor, inside the cupboard, all over clean pans, all over self.
4. Make sure you know of said flood before attempting to put soup covered clothes in laundry room. It tends to make frustrating situation even more frustrating.
5. Sometimes it is OK not to answer the phone.
6. Corbyn's tummy as he put it "hurts like the Dickens"
7. Don't use your finger to check a diaper.
8. It is OK to go back to bed mid-day and start over.

Just Waiting For an ER Trip

You know those really big Balls that Walmart sell? They aren't as big as yoga balls but good size for kids. Well today Corbyn was just playing with the 2 that we have. The boys LOVE to sit on them and bounce all over the house. So Corbyn has the idea to stack the 2 balls and then try to sit on them dbl stacked. Well I caught him and I told him that it probably wasn't a good idea to do that because he will get hurt. Do you wanna know what he said?

"Well, it didn't hurt that bad the first time"

Yep I can just see MANY ER trips with that one.

New Business?

As most of you know I was a Stampin Up! Demonstrator for 7 (I think) years. I stopped last Oct. It was a sad day. I took a year off. My plan was to grow my Craft/Vinyl business. Well I've gotten lazy with that as well. Now that Cooper is getting bigger I have a little more free time so I was kind of thinking to maybe start another business (as well as work on my vinyl stuff more) But what should I do? I want to sell something that I would want myself. I still LOVE Stampin Up! I'm thinking Scentsy would be fun so I can build my Scent stash. I also would love to get more Pampered Chef products but I'm not a cook and I would burn some body's house down. I use Mary Kay products, but I already get that for 50% off (Thanks Laura). I also have been too and purchased Lia Sophia Jewelry and I would like more of that.

So I'm taking opinions should I or shouldn't I sign up with something, And what should it be?

Good Day

We had a good day today. Got a call this morning from a friend who needed some help so we went to Boise. We got the trampoline mat fixed (finally after 2 years) I got some fabric to make a baby gift, I also got another gift for the baby mama, today was kids eat free at chilis so we went to lunch, now we're home putting the trampoline together then we will watch a redbox movie. =) I love spending days like today with my Family.

Funny Story For Today

So If you know me at all you know that I'm not a patient person. I do ok but for some reason when the noise level in my home rises so does my temper. Sad I know. I've been working on it. So today the boys were being their usual and fighting and screaming and I had had enough. SO I started yelling and telling the boys to put the toys away since they couldn't play without fighting. My Little Cole....That kid just makes me laugh some times. He has started a new thing that when tensions are high he covers his ears. SO while I was sending Corbyn to his room and telling Carsyn to pick up I looked at Cole (who's ears are covered) and say "this is just ridiculous! He looks at me with sweet innocence and says...."What"?....I guess you just had to be there but it made me smile.

Microwave S'mores (minus the chocolate for me of course) for dessert
~Carey :D

Lack of Time or Just Plain Lazy?...That is the Question.

The other day Corbyn did something super funny and I thought to myself I should put that on the blog. Well of course I couldn't just stop what I was doing at the moment and get on the computer. When I finaly was able to sit down for a minute I totally forgot what I wanted to put on here....I was so sad. It got me thinking How much have I really blogged about over the last few months? Then I got super sad when the boys asked me if they could look at their scrapbooks. They were all excited then Cole got out his book and there is 1 page in it....1!!!!!! I can't believe I have slacked in my scrapbooking/crafting so bad this whole year. So Here I go. I have set some new goals and hopefully You will hear more from me on here and the boys will have more to look at in their books and also maybe bring in some more income when I get back to my Business of crafting. SO keep an eye out on both of my blogs it's going to be a great holiday season and I can't wait!

I think "Skinny" jeans are Soooo ugly! So why do I own a pair? They're super cute with my new Boots.

What to you think, should I return the boots and jeans or keep them? Leave a comment and let me know.

Quick funny story

SO this Morning Corbyn (age 4) asked me if he could play a game on my itouch I told him no that we had to do some chores first. So about 1/2 hour later I was making my bed and starting the washer and when I came back to the living room I saw Corbyn in my rocking chair. He noticed that I was looking at him so he quickly put something on his lap then started fidgeting with his hands. I calmly walked over sat on the ottoman and the conversation went as follows....
Me: What you doing?
Corbyn: Nothing
Me: what is on your lap?
Corbyn: well, just something that just turned itself on. (and somehow typed in the passcode)
SO Then I started to laugh and he got embarrassed and started to cry lol

I know I promised to write about my Mom's passing but to be honest, I don't know if it's something I can do. The final days I had with my Mom were so hard but so amazing to be able to watch her overcome her final trial. I miss her so much. sometimes I feel like I'm already forgetting what she looks like and that scares me. I've been trying so hard to keep it together for the sake of Dad and my sisters. I think I've only broke down once. I know it isn't the healthiest thing to do but really I'm doing OK. Yesterday and today have been hard because I haven't felt very well and every once in a while I think to myself that maybe I am depressed on the inside. But I just shut that door and move on. What else can I do? I'm so busy with the boys and ride Idaho, and Dad, and everything else that, I don't have time to take for me. Does that sound awful "Sorry Mom I don't have time to grieve over you because I'm too busy" I haven't even be able to bring myself to writing in my journal. I know it needs to be done so I will try sooner then later. But this week I have to get the courage and bring out all of Moms pictures and personal things and put them all into a scrap book. That isn't going to be easy. But for tonight I'm going to take a shower, get all dressed up and go out to dinner with my bestest friend in the whole wide world. We're going to eat lots of steak fries and drink lots of Dr. Pepper and maybe even some ice cream.

Sunday, July 31, 2011

Well As most of you know I've had a rough few weeks. I don't even know how to begin writing what I feel in my heart right now. over the last weeks I have felt emotions that I've never felt before. I can't remember if I talked about my trip to St. George on here but the plan was I would go to SLC to attend a friends wedding then We would head on down to St. George to spend 2 weeks with Grandma. Chad flew back to Nampa because he had a couple of work shifts to work during the 2 weeks. Then he was going to fly back down to St G. and we would all attend a Family reunion on our way home. Well Chad flew home on Monday evening. I got a call about 1:30 Wednesday morning to tell me that Mom had had a stroke. Mom hadn't had a stroke before amongst all of her siezure episodes so this time something felt different. All day Wed I stayed by the phone talking with Dad about the condition and we all came to the conclusion that the stroke did a number on Mom's brain she could no longer swallow on her own. We got Hospice back involved and with her medical opinion and talking to lots of family Dad made the heart wrenching decision to not put in a feeding tube. Dad kept telling me I didn't need to come home and change our plans and that Mom would just run the course and be finished with her trial. Well I just couldn't rest easy knowing this would be the end for Mom and I was 800 miles away. Chad offered to drive down and pick us up but that didn't make much sense so on Thursday morning we spent some time with Grandma then we loaded the car and the 5 of us headed out. I wasn't sure how the 4 boys would do. I also was concerned how long our already 12 hour drive would take because of extra stops to nurse Mr. Cooper. We left at 2pm and drove to Payson (about 3 1/2 hours) and we stopped and had dinner with Chads sister Laura. After an hours break we continued on to Kaysville where we stayed the night at Amy's she was out of town but left a key for me.
I woke up the next morning at 5:30 after not getting any sleep. We got on the road about 6:30 and for some reason it seemed like it took forever to get moving. we had to stop at walmart and get some breakfast and ended up there nearly 45 min trying to gets kids situated in the car. We had some extra stops here and there but all in all the boys did REALLY well. the drive from Kaysville is normally about 4 1/2 hours and it took us 7 yikes! but we made it home where we were welcomed with big hugs from Daddy. We had some lunch, showered changed our clothes unloaded the car etc...I wasn't sure if I wanted continue on to Weiser (another hours drive) I felt like I had already asked too much of the boys. However after reading a heartfelt blog post from Dad we got in the car and headed out to see Mom in her final days. .......I will talk about that expiriance in another post.

Lately

So, Lately I've been having some random thoughts and I kept thinking I should share them on here. While in a perfect world I would have done that, my world is far from perfect and at times it's crazy and disorganized, the thoughts did not make it onto the blog. The other weekend I had something to say but it was out of anger and if I were to actually say what I wanted too I probably would have made some enemies. So I kind of stayed off of the computer (notice I didn't post much on face book either?). In the next coming days I'm going to be super busy. I'm leaving on the 15th and pretty much wont be home until mid Aug and then I will still be in and out clear until Sept. But I'm hoping to be able to take my computer to St. George and I should have a little bit of time for myself since Grandma will be keeping the boys occupied. Maybe I will be able to share some of the summers highlights so far (it's been a great summer)
Here is hoping I survive the rest of it.

Adventures at the Park

Cole got beat up by a Girl today lol.....He was standing up by the blanket kind of dancing around while eating His lunch then a down syndrome Girl got up from the picnic table and came RUNNING over I'm not sure if she was trying to give Him a hug (because Her arms were open) or just wanting to play. but She ran right over Cole and knocked him down flat lol....the Girl's worker Lady came running and helped Cole up because I had Cooper in my lap. Then She saw that He had a mouth full of string cheese as He is now crying. So then the worker Lady got all panicked and worried. She hurried and gathered their things and asked once again if he was ok and I told Her Cole was just fine and that he has 2 older brothers that do the same thing every day. She was still pretty shook up that the Girl had done that...I don't think I've ever seen someone leave the park so fast lol...

Remember the List?

Well, I'm bringing it back! I seem to do better when I have a list written down and post publicly because then I feel like I have to be held accountable and see how long it takes me to get it done (1 hour or 1 week lol) So here it goes.

1. 3 loads laundry
2. Dishes
3. Clean master bath toilet
4. Make June birthday day cards
5. Cut all pending vinyl orders

Lets just start with that since the vinyl orders will take some time. Wish me luck because yesterday I had no motivation to do anything.

Cloth diaper update

So far it's still a hit and miss with the cloth dipes. I Love the cloth diapers but I think it's just because I was so board with the same routine that I've had for the last 8 years. I have a pretty good stash and I'm doing some research to make a whole bunch ( I would love if I could sell them) I have some fitteds that I need to get a cover before I can try (UPS will be here any day now) I have some BumGenius AIO's and a whole bunch of pockets. I LOVE the pocket diapers. But the current road bump I have is a stink problem. I just switched laundry soaps and I have a few things in mind to try. We will see. But if anyone ever wants to buy me anything I have a "WANT" list of cloth diapers lol.

One of my Favorites

I just love the Easter and Christmas seasons. I can't ever get through them with out crying at one point or another for what our Savior did for us. I absolutely love our Hymn Book. I could never pick just 1 song to be my favorite but I do have a list of songs that bring tears to my eyes nearly every time I hear one of them. Lets face it, I'm just a bawl baby. Anyway I found this background and it was so fitting for the season and it also goes a long with a Song that is one of the ones that I need tissues near by. It's Titled

"He Is Risen!"

He is risen! He is risen! Tell it out with joyful voice.

He has burst his three days' prison; Let the whole wide earth rejoice.

Death is conquered; man is free. Christ has won the victory.

Come with high and holy hymning; Chant our Lord's triumphant lay.

Not one dark some cloud is dimming Yonder glorious morning ray,

Breaking o'er the purple east, Symbol of our Easter feast.

He is risen! He is risen! He hath opened heaven's gate

We are free from sin's dark prison, Risen to a holier state.

And a brighter Easter beam On our longing eyes shall stream.

Cloth Diaper Update.

Ok, So it definitely has a learning curve to it. I've been discouraged I will admit. I'm not giving up because I love the thought of cloth diapers. But I don't want the extra work, and regular diapers are just so much more easy. I guess I'm just weird and want to have it all. I'm a bit overwhelmed with it all because there so are many to choose from. AIO's AI2's, Pockets, Fitted, Pre-Folds., Velcro, Snaps, Gussets.....and don't even get me started on the brands. every brand makes the diaper just a little different so again what to even try???? I don't know It is so much more work and since I'm not doing it for the environment or anything crazy like that...(it's just my own "crazy" phase)I may ended up just bagging the whole thing.

Which one should we get?

Not sure if you remember but last year when we moved back to Idaho we sold our couch and love seat set. There were several reasons why we did that. We were Supposed to replace as soon as we got back to Idaho but now nearly a year later we still have not done so. We have been couch shopping for a bit and we have it narrowed down to 2 couches. Top pic is a choclate Micro Fiber and Pic 2 is Bonded Leather. Leave a comment and tell me what one you like better.

The Story Behind the Dress

So a few weeks ago I went on a date with my dear friend Amy. We went to dinner then decided to go window shopping. Well we walked by Dress Barn they were already closed but we saw some super cute dresses through the window. The next day Chad and I had a baby sitter so we went back to the store. I showed him the dress and I tried it on. It was so cute and I absolutely loved it. But the problem was the price tag eeek. It was out of the budget. A few days later Chad took me shopping for some clothes and I was able to get like 6 shirts and a skirt for the price it was for the dress. But oh how I loved the dress. Well you all know my Hubby and how he devotes his life to spoiling me. On Saturday night he got off work early so he could get to the store before they closed. He turned the GPS on his phone off so I wouldn't be able to track him. He went to the store got the dress and the store clerk helped him pick out some shoes that are super cute. And when I was doing my hair Sunday morning getting ready for church he brought in my lovely surprise. He actually pulled off a surprise *gasp* Oh how I love my hubby. I shed a few tears because of what he did. Everyone at church loved it! And I thought I looked pretty darn cute myself.

Boring But Blessed

Nothing that "exciting" has been going on around here. The kids are growing, Chad goes to work, I do the laundry and life just keeps on moving. As boring as that may sound, I'm so happy that my family is blessed not to be facing some of the trials that so many families face from day to day. Chad has a job, the bills are paid, the debt is going down, I don't have to deal with annoying gossip, I'm able to do my crafting, I have friends that are just FABULOUS, And I am able to smile several times a day. Now if those aren't called blessings then I don't know what is.

1, 2, 3, 500, 600, 15,000

For the last few weeks I've been counting my blessings. I don't think there is a number large enough to number every blessing my family has. Each one of my boys is such a special spirit. And even though I complain about my boys so much, they are all actually really good boys. Each one has their own different thing about them and I love each one. And oh how I love my husband! The Lord knew what kind of Man I would need to be able to get through this life and boy did He hit the nail on the head. I've been looking at other Families and seeing their trials, and thanking my Husband and Heavenly Father, that even though I stress about the dumbest things, I'm surrounded by loving friends and family, I have a roof over my head 2 cars that are paid for and lots off food in the pantry that was not bought with welfare (not that it's a bad thing if you need the help).
I would encourage everyone to take a few minutes and just list our some of your blessings and then go thank your Heavenly Father for all that he has given to you.

One More to Consider

Opinions Needed

Ok, So I have a hair appointment this Thursday to cut and color. My problem is that I have no idea what I want to do this time so I'm asking for opinions. I want everyone to reply with your thoughts. I've posted a few pictures of how I've done it the last few times.
Pic #1 This is me currently. Mostly my natural color it's shorter in the back.

This was taken about May or June of 09. After I had done red with blond high lights The red faded but the blond stayed I really liked this one.
This was Jan 09 this was the red and blond I mentioned before.

This style was April 10 I went dark brown with red high lights. This one was also super fun

So what do you think? Longer? Shorter? Dark? Light? All will be considered unless blue lol. You have until Thursday.

Nursery must have been so exciting today.

Enough is Enough

I've been dealing with Gallbladder attacks for 8 years now. they're painful! I've tried changing my diet. I've tried cleanses. I've tried exercising. Nothing has helped or stopped the pain. I didn't want to have the recommended surgery because I've always felt that if a body part wasn't supposed to be there then Heavenly Father wouldn't have put it there. Well over the last few months I've been having attacks pretty regularly. They're harder to deal with, with 4 kids and a husband who cannot rush to my side for comfort. We decided it was time. This is not an easy thing for me to want to do. But we made an appointment with a Family practitioner who my Midwife recommended, then got a recommend for a surgeon from her. Ever since we made these appointments, I've have daily attacks...Yes I said DAILY. Last night was no exception. I started to feel the attack around 8:30 pm. I was in pain all night. I finally was able to lay now (not pain free) at 6:30am. My insides still hurt from the pain. I keep thinking "why now" I'm so close to having it done. Today has been a rough and sometimes emotional day. Being up all night will do that to you. Lets hope that the Surgeon has an opening for surgery sooner then later because I'm finished with this. I've done my time. Lets pray I can endure this for a few more weeks. because after last night I seriously thought about going to the ER and having an emergency surgery performed.

They Grow Like Weeds!

Ok so it's been a while since I've talked about the boys. Yes I post pictures but that's easy because I just use my phone so I don't have to go to the computer to post them. So anyway here are some things they've been doing..

#4 Wow he is already nearly 3 months old. Sheesh if pregnancy went as fast as infancy then I would be preg anytime lol...He started sleeping through the night the week before his blessing so about 7 weeks, It has been a blessing in itself. non of the other boys slept through the night before they were one. He is such a good baby. right around the time he started sleeping through the night he also started laughing out loud and cooing....again this came a lot later for the other boys. He is such a sweet heart. He loves to snuggle and that is just fine with me.

#3 Lets just say my 2 year old is a pain in the rear but he is so cute when he is, I can't stay mad for long. If I make him mad he takes off his shirt then proceeds to throw something (anything). He isn't throwing it at me just throwing it...lol....These items include dinning room chairs so watch out one of these days he will get strong enough to tip it over. He still isn't talking much but he has his way of letting me know what he wants. He so good with the Baby he loves to give him "kiss, kiss" He also loves to talk to Papa on skype. They play peekaboo together. He gets so excited over the silliest things. I just love him.

#2 Oh how I wish potty training was simple for everyone. He hasn't been in diapers for a long time (like probably Sept or so) but he still has accidents if I don't remind him to go every hour or so. And we still have to do the pull ups at night grrr....I hate buying those things. When we trained #1 he was trained in like a day including over night. But #2 just seems to do his own things. sometimes I find myself so busy with the other 3 and I find him off in a corner by himself. I try to make sure I make time for him too. He doesn't seem to be as interested in learning as #1 was at this same age. But every child is different. He is definitely more hands on then #1 was. So it will be interesting homeschooling him.

#1 Ok now my oldest. What can I say about him? Well nothing because he doesn't stop talking long enough for me to talk. He is so out going. His passion in life is definitely the Gospel. He asked the Bishop when can he give a talk in Sacrament meeting, and he wants to invite the neighbor boy to church with us. He can't wait until his baptism day but he's more excited about his Bishops interview then he is about the actual baptism. He is doing great in school. And he seems to be talking to me more in Spanish then English.....too bad I don't know a single word being said. It will be interesting to see where his life takes him. (although I have my own ideas)

Chad and Myself.
This year will be our 10 year anniversary and can I just say that I love him so much? We have such a great marriage. We don't fight, we take care of each other, we support each other. What more can be said? It breaks my heart to see some one Else's marriage fail and we can't seem to comprehend it. I'm so comforted to know we will never have to go through that.

I just love my Family. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for blessing us they way he has. I know without His love, support, hand, and spirit in our home we could not be as happy as we are.
